WinSCP is an open source based SFTP/FTP/WebDAV/SCP client for Windows platform offering secure way of transferring files between local & remote computers. Like most softwares, it also offers to remember the passwords so that user don't have to enter it every time.
WinSCP Password Decoder helps you to quickly recover all these stored passwords if you have ever lost or forgotten them. Once recovered, you can backup the password list to HTML file for future use.
It supports dual mode of password recovery from Windows registry as well as from WinSCP configuration file (WinSCP.ini). On start, it automatically detects WinSCP config file if any present and displays it.
You can not only use it to recover passwords from local but also configuration file from remote system. And it is fully portable and can be run anywhere without installing on your local computer.

By default WinSCP software stores all the saved passwords in Windows Registry at following location, |

WinSCP Password Decoder is easy to use with its simple GUI interface. Here are the brief usage details |
- Launch WinSCPPasswordDecoder.exe
- Select 'Windows Registry' or 'Configuration File' mode if you have WinSCP.ini file. On start, it will try to find the file if it is present at standard location.
- Next click on 'Start
Recovery' button and all the stored login passwords from WinSCP will be recovered & displayed as shown in screenshot 1
below.
- Finally you can save all recovered password list to HTMLfile by clicking on 'Export' button and then select the type
of file from the drop down box of 'Save File Dialog'.

your stored passwords. It cannot recover the passwords for other users
unless you have right credentials. Like any tool its use either good or
bad, depends upon the user who uses it. However Author or
SecurityXploded is not
